Our story

“We belong to the long wine history of our family, which successfully crosses three centuries”

The winery has been founded in the Seventies by Alessio, who started vinegrowing at his father’s farm: his grandparents had been producing wines in Collio since the second half of the 18th century. Alessio wanted to produce and directly sell his wine aware of the importance of a wine produced and bottled in Collio by a family run business. The first Alessio Komjanc label is dated 1973.

The turning point

A new impulse has been given to the winery in 2000, when all Alessio’s sons: Beniamin, Roberto, Patrik and Ivan decided to work together in the company, in order to achieve a better specialization in each step of the production range.

In 2006 cellar renovation was completed and today its 750 square meters of covered surface include the grape processing portico, the vinification room and the cellar for aging, the bottling room and the storage. In the cellar only grapes from the estate’s vineyards are made into wine.

In 2015 we have started collaborating with Gianni Menotti, twice awarded the title of Best Oenologist in Italy, with whom we have embarked on a path of qualitative growth that is bearing fruit.

In 2019, Pinot Bianco 2018 received the coveted Platinum Award from The Wine Hunter, Helmut Köcher.

Extra virgin olive oil

In the 80s Alessio planted the first olive trees. Then over the years the plots dedicated to olive growing were expanded and in about 2005 the first bottles of Oče Aš, the oil of granpa Alessio, were introduced on the market.
